Coverage
Sweetwater Metal Products provides a limited one-year warranty to the original purchaser and any person to whom the product is transferred during the warranty period. SMP’s obligation is limited to repairing or replacing, at its Sweetwater, Tennessee factory, parts returned transportation prepaid and found to be defective.
Warranty registration
To validate the warranty, complete the accompanying warranty registration card and return it within 10 days of the purchase date.
Warranty exclusions
The warranty does not apply when a product has been altered, repaired or modified outside SMP’s factory in a way that affects operation; has been misused, damaged, improperly installed or operated contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions; or has been used with unapproved accessories or loads above its rated capacity.
Paint damage caused by rock chipping is not covered. Tires are excluded and claims should be made directly to the tire manufacturer.
Warranty period and limitations
The one-year period begins when the dealer sells the product to the purchaser. If that date cannot be established, the period begins when SMP sold the product. Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are limited to the same one-year period. SMP is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
Making a claim
Contact Sweetwater Metal Products with the product identification and its location. SMP will provide return instructions and make its best effort to repair or replace a qualifying product within 60 days after it is returned.
